Originally inspired by modern Guatemalan statues of the legendary Mayan warrior king Tecun Uman, this piece also conjures names like Kukulkan, the Feathered Serpent—or Quetzalcoatl of the Aztec, the creator-god of death and rebirth, storms and earthquakes.
